“Always find the restaurant a pleasant repass from the ordinary spots. Great to discuss business, take clients, enjoy good friends company, and have a great tasting meal. Selections are fairly wide ranging and the taste is always unique to each dish not the ‘same old’ taste.”

“We had our sons rehearsal dinner there last Friday. We work[ed] to coordinate our function with Paula Green. She could not have been any more helpful! She tried to make every special request we had a reality. Thank you Paula. You and your staff provide excellent customer service!! We had several people with food allergies in our group, and each was addressed with great ease. Again, we thank you! The food was amazing, and the presentation was just lovely. The beautiful water wall made it easy to decorate the room. It really didn’t need much more. Bang! Done! This restaurant is open for lunch and dinner. Check it out!”

“We rented the private room at Bistro West for the Wedding Rehearsal dinner. Oscar and Amber were our two dedicated servers for our party of 22; they are awesome and knowledgeable servers who described the wines and the menu choices. The appetizers were warm and satisfying, and everything we were served (main course and dessert tray) was excellent. I’d eaten in their dining room before; having this party in the private room was a good choice!”

“The service was GREAT, we were on a special date and the waitress was very present without interrupting. My girlfriend is gluten free oriented and they show interest in her level of tolerance and were very responsive to provide gluten free goods to her. Wines selection was pretty good and reasonable prices. One point, the Tabbouleh was not what I was expecting. Great Romantic ambiance…. I would certainly return with my Girlfriend again to a date in this restaurant.”

“Quite a varied menu, but we settled for pizza because in addition to the classics they had some interesting specialities…the Pear, Gorgonzola & Prusciuttio Flat Bread was a phenomenal taste sensation. Interesting salads… The Seared Ahi Salad was delicious. If you like tapas or small plates try their Happy Hour with their Seven 4 Seven Appetizers & Seven 4 Seven Drinks. “A friend recommended this place for my birthday and so I thought we would give it a try. I had the Pear and Gorgonzola pizza and my husband had the Mushroom Risotto his mom had the French Dip. The pizza was served right out of the stone oven and was wonderful! The French Dip had tender meat and a wonderful dipping sauce. My favorite dish was the Mushroom Risotto, the Scallops were perfectly cooked (as anyone who has cooked scallops can tell you this is hard) with a bit of a sear on them. The server gave us a bread pudding dessert on the house and it was delicious! Overall a wonderful experience I will definitely be coming back! Heard they have a really good happy hour.”

We had a great experience! Beautiful inviting décor, extremely friendly people, from the hostesses and hosts, the server and even the Manager stopped us on the way out to ask how our experience was. The food was great, prices reasonable, and the dining room was beautiful. We will happy to visit again when in the area and will happily recommend Bistro West to our friends!”

We had french onion soup, a beet salad, a Cobb and a more. They were all divine. The goat cheese on the beet salad came in balls that had been lightly battered like a mozzarella stick…mind blowing good.”

“Stayed at the West Inn right next door within walking distance. After a long day at Legoland, I didn’t want to drive so we ate here. This place is high class, complete with hundreds of bottles of wine on display in a huge wine cooler. They also have a lot of draft beers, which I did partake in! 
The food was good and definitely did not leave hungry. Our server was very attentive and always checked to make sure we were ok. Highly recommended!”

Luckily this place has a little bit of everything for everyone. Would definitely recommend going here rather than any of the chain restaurants from the other side of the I-5. The menu offers American/French/Asian Fusion food so I would say this is a more upscale version of Cheesecake Factory.”

“This restaurant is located next to the West Inn & Suites and very convenient for guests staying there. We needed a place that could accommodate our kids’ food allergies and we found the staff to be very knowledgeable and careful. They listened to what our kids wanted and were able to adjust the meal to make it work for them. The food was very good, using fresh ingredients and generous proportions. The decor is modern with polished wood… yet causal enough for family dinners. The prices were moderate for upscale dishes. The staff are very friendly, professional, and helpful. We were well taken care of during our visit and highly recommend this place.”

“We found this place with a quick search of area restaurants, Parking is a bit of a challenge here as they share a lot with their sister facility and a hotel. Nice décor as we walked in and had a brief wait for a table which was less than 10 min. We were seated close to the kitchen which may or may not bother some, our server Kristen was very pleasant. Menu was fair priced and had lots of options, two at our table had pasta dishes and I opted for a French Dip, all had great flavor. Meals took a bit longer to get out, our server was fun so it washed ok. over all I would recommend Bistro West, it was actually less than the brew pub we went to the night before.”

It’s a hidden location that I would not have stumbled on were it not for trip advisor or open table. The restaurant is beautiful inside and huge. The service was beyond on point. The menu has many options and our meals were cooked perfectly, tasted great, and came quickly despite the size of the restaurant and the capacity on the weekend. “Loved the menu, but tried the mushroom ravioli with giant scallops that was a special that evening. It was absolutely wonderful in taste and presentation. The portion was generous, so much so I was able to share my dish with our friends, and still take some home for the next day. Our server was great. He somehow knew the perfect moment to approach our table, and he handled his role very efficiently. The only thing missing was a few windows to watch the sun set. But then again, I was far more interested in impressing our out-of-town gourmet-cook friends than having a view. And as it turns out, they loved everything as much as I did.”

“Bistro West is the finest dining surprise I’ve had in a long time. It’s ‘hidden’ but so easy to get to, just off the 5 fwy. It’s part a very nice hotel - steak house - bistro complex. Anyway, the menu had so many of my favorites. I chose fish & chips this time around. Excellent! Others had the mushroom lasagna with (real) scallops, and the gumbo. We shared a tasty pear pizza & calamari. Huge mud pie for dessert. All were top notch. What (actually Who) made this a treasured experience were Oscar, our waiter and Greg, our host/manager. Oscar was friendly, fun, knowledgeable and available. Can’t ask for more. Greg was great. Had a way where he could enter the conversation while checking on how things were going. A true gift of Hospitality! We will return… Prices were very good, food was far above average; the ambience was lovely & hospitality the treasure of the evening.”

The greeter and wait staff (Leah) were friendly, professional, knowledgeable of the menu options and alcoholic beverages including extensive wine options). Food was perfectly seasoned and prepared supplemented with delicious baked bread rolls. Details make the difference: restaurant is nicely decorated (we like the bubble wall) and quiet environment, employees are well dressed, butter is soft (not frozen as many places. While next to the ocean, this isn’t the place to come wearing your swimsuit and flip flops; business casual or better.”

“It was the best. Just the best. We had our small wedding reception dinner here and, well, WOW. I kept looking across the table at guests gesturing with their forks at their food mouthing to me the words “this is WONDERFUL!” (It actually started when the rolls arrived and continued through the salads, soup and main course….) All of it- the steaks, the salmon and my own entree, the Mushroom Ravioli with seared scallops. If I so much as looked up from my food towards a server, they were already looking at me to anticipate a need. All of the wait staff, managers and event coordinator were attentive, professional and gave the impression they were HAPPY TO BE attentive and professional. What a treat! Bet they get a lot of repeat visits from our guests as they certainly will from my husband and I. Just a lovely experience all around and I am so very grateful to have been is such skilled hands for this memorable day.”

“I don’t like to spend a lot on lunch but want the quality and quantity. Yes I want it all! Well that’s exactly what I got, from a recent dining experience at West Bistro in Carlsbad, CA. My hubbie and I went in expecting a bar like atmosphere and were extremely thrilled to sit in a beautiful restaurant with a bubbling wall of water that changed color! Soft music played and the air conditioning was just what we needed on this particular hot day in SoCal! When you first come in there is a very casual indoor outdoor seating area. But if you want something more intimate and inviting, go to the left side and behold the bubble wall! They have lunch specials everyday and the ones on the day we went were Lasagna plate, Hawaiian plate and the choice of two either soup, salad or 1/2 sandwhich. They stop serving these particular entrees at 3:30. However their normal lunch is served all day. All around $10!! You spend that easily at a fast food place. This food was absolutely amazing! The service was impeccable but friendly. We were dressed casual but the restaurant was awesome. I got everything I wanted…great food, cool, relaxing atmosphere for a bargain! To quote my picky husband, “we will definitely be coming back here!”

“Such a delight to escape to this beautiful restaurant from the confines of the Legoland Hotel!! This was our second time dining here, and both times we really enjoyed the food, ambiance and service. We had just ended a long day at a hectic water park, and were especially looking forward to some refreshing cocktails and delicious food! From our warm greeting as we entered the door to our attentive server catering to us until the very end, Bistro West is definitely doing it right. We enjoyed the buffalo wings, steamed mussels, Mary’s roasted chicken and mushroom raviolis with scallops. All were amazing, especially the mushroom scallop dish which was rich and flavorful! Wish we would have had room for desert, but we will do it next time for sure. Even though this place feels a bit more high end, the ambiance is still relaxed and service is great!”

“We stayed at West Inn Suites for our first Legoland trip. The family was hungry when we first arrived. Fortunately, this restaurant was right next door to the hotel. When we first walked in, we felt a little underdressed for how nice it looked inside. Yet, I think they are used to travellers. Our server was very friendly and hospitable. I ordered the ahi salad, and it was good. I’d recommend eating here than the steak & seafood place which is, also, on the property. I tried both and there is a huge difference in price and the quality.”
